list of volunteer opportunities we have available. Some are programs already in effect that need
additional volunteers. Others are
programs we’d like to have, but need someone to get it started. Please let us know what your interests are
and we will contact you with more information (job description, time required,
etc.)

Build feral cat feeders □
Trap feral cats for neutering and vet care □
Manage feral cat colony □
Foster special-needs pets (puppies/kittens,
pregnant/nursing, sick, distressed) □
Plan distribution of educational magazines to area
classrooms □
Compile monthly statistics at the shelter □
Coordinate volunteers and trainer for animal training □
Photograph pets for adoption □
Write “blurbs” for pets for adoption □
Manage sale of car magnets at shelter and local businesses □
Coordinate volunteers □
Walk dogs at the shelter □
Play with cats/clean litter boxes □
Make adoption follow-up calls □
Coordinate publicity □
Contribute articles, photos, poems, interviews, etc. for
the newsletter □
Help reunite lost pets with their families
By helping Friends of the Animal Shelter, you are helping ALL
of the homeless animals in St. Bernard Parish. Besides just feeling good about yourself,
there other benefits! Gain valuable
experience – by volunteering,
you meet new people and learn new things!
Plus, volunteering looks great on applications and resumes!
